One of our members, Larry Noble, put this together and he'll be running the show… If you are interested, drop him a note at: zulumailx@aol.com
MISS 3-Gun / Multigun Matches:
We've been approved by the RCLRC range in Wisconsin to have three 3-gun matches:
Saturday, June 19, 2010
Saturday, July 17, 2010
Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010
Stage preparation and registration will start at about 1:30 PM. The safety meeting will be at 2:30 PM with shooting to start soon after. The match will, most likely, end around 6:30 PM (depending on the number of competitors).
For the first match (Saturday, June 19, 2010), the match fee will be $15, $12 for MISS Members, and $10 for Match Helpers (Keep in mind $10 is the per person fee the club pays for range usage.)
This is a great opportunity for those getting started in 3-gun to gain experience and have some fun. Of course you will want to make sure your gear is ready to go, and you're familiar with the classifications and rules at http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2010_Multigun_Rules.pdf
The matches will be held at the Racine County Line Rifle Club (RCLRC), their website is http://my.rclrc.net/, and the range can be found on Google Maps at: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=42.836577,-87.831402&spn=0.011754,0.02738&t=h&z=16/ Please note, there is significant road construction on some of the roads west of the range (Exit G from 94 is closed, parts of 6-Mile Road are currently under construction.) Also, 7-Mile Road does not go through (stops at railroad tracks). If you're not familiar with the area, give yourself an extra half hour to find the range. See the directions below.
In the near future we will have information and updates on MISS' Blog: http://www.miss-uspsa.blogspot.com/
Now the important part...
If you are interested in attending, please contact Larry Noble at zulumailx@aol.com to let him know.
Also, would you be interested in helping setup / run the match? It would be great if we had some extra Range Officers, Scorekeepers, and other helpers. If you can, let Larry know as soon as possible. (Note: It would be fantastic if you have 3-Gun/Multigun experience, although it is not necessary, you would still be an asset for stage preparation, safety management, etc.)
Thank you, have a great summer, and see you at the range!
Directions: If you're taking Interstate 94 from Illinois, you'll probably want to cut over to Route 31 (Greenbay Rd) South of the range, at 4-Mile Road for example. Take Route 31 (going North) to 6-Mile Road, take a right turn (going East) on 6-Mile Road, and take it about two blocks to Michna Road. Take a left on Michna Road (going North), go one mile on Michina Road until it stops at 7-Mile Road. Take a left turn at 7-Mile Road (going West) and take it until it stops at the railroad tracks (road surface turns to gravel). Now take a right turn on the gravel road (going North), you will now be driving parallel to the railroad tracks (which will be on your left side). Take the gravel road about a half mile, you'll see a small sign for Racine County Line range. Turn right and go through the two gates into RCLRC. Follow the main road all the way to the 25 m & 50 m ranges at the end. Note: Please keep your speed low on the gravel roads, 5-10 mph is best for safety and to keep dust down. Thanks
