February 18th Results
We had 23 shooters and ran 3 stages - 2 classifiers and 1 fun stage. Sorry for folks that had to shoot the hearts in the dark - I'd like to off this message:
"We'll try harder next time. Maybe."
;)
Alrights... As always, we post combined results here for fun. Local match results by division are posted at USPSA. If you are interested in divisional results, you should check out scores by club there.
Classifiers were also uploaded tonight, but probably won't be processed for a few days.

classifiers. Classifiers. CLASSIFIERS.
We'll be running 2 classifiers on the 18th. Links are to the stage diagrams (PDF) and instructions.
Melody Line (99-08)
Times Two (99-10)
Get busy practicing 'em...
If you're not a USPSA member, come shoot anyway. If you were planning on becoming a USPSA member, now is a good time: you'll have 2 out of 4 classifiers needed to place you in some ranking...

Pine Tree's WIIT.
A few MISS members braved the crowds and shot the 2010 WIIT at Pine Tree Pistol Club!
Video of us fumbling our way through stages will come shortly!
I managed to take Hi-C in Production (6th overall), though I just missed a B-classification (due to my existing scores) with a 59.42%!! SO CLOSE!
Bob O. took Hi-C in Single Stack (7th overall). What else would you expect from the #1 C class pistolero in Single Stack? Congrats! (His performance on the WIIT's classifier will put him over the B-mark...)

HB 180 - Please, take action: Call your State Rep!
Normally, we at MISS do not post/send out off-topic email or legislative
action notices since we feel there are far too many email lists and
other venues for information. However, we make special exceptions for
issues that are particularly close to home - such as last months
Lakemoor Rally and the following issue:
Some of you may have seen the ISRA alert regarding HB 180. The full
text is available on the Illinois General Assembly site:
This, we feel, is an issue that cuts particularly close to home: our
"home range", HP Shooting Center, is a business that would,
undoubtedly, feel the pressure that HB 180 would create. Additionally,
how many shooters would be encouraged to shoot with M.I.S.S. (or any
other clubs, such as McHenry IDPA) when their names are treated to the
Gestapo-tactic of "registering to/with the state" after a handgun
sale?
What follows is the text of the ISRA email that went out this morning - please take a few moments and call or write your State Representative.
Late last week, Daley sympathizers in the Illinois House passed HB180
out of the Rules Committee and on to the floor of the House. A vote on
HB 180 is expected as early as this coming Tuesday.
Should you be worried about HB 180? ABSOLUTELY!
HB 180 would include the following:
1. Require all Illinois gun shops to secure a license to operate
issued by the Illinois State Police. Under this bill, the State Police
may issue a license to a gun shop and would establish all rules and
regulations required to keep the license. You know what that means
either nobody would be granted a license, or those who did get
licenses would be so burdened by regulations that they could not make
a profit.
BOTTOM LINE: HB 180 would shut down all gun shops in Illinois.
2. HB 180 requires that all your gun purchases be registered with the
state police.
BOTTOM LINE: HB 180 is a licensing/registration scheme designed to
keep track of how many guns you own so they may be easily confiscated
at a later date.
3. HB 180 allows any police officer in the state go to any gun shop in
the state to conduct so-called record reviews.
BOTTOM LINE: The Chicago CAGE Unit could, and would, inspect gun shops
across the state doing these record reviews. Shop owners, no matter
where they are located, would be forced to cooperate with the CAGE
unit or lose their licenses. The true purpose of these visits is to
cost gun shops time and money and ultimately cause them to go out of
business.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1. Starting Monday morning, call your State Representative and
politely tell him/her that you oppose HB 180 and that you would like
to see him/her vote against the bill when it comes to the House Floor.
If you do now know who your state representative is, go to the
following web site and follow the directions for looking up your
legislators: Illinois State Board of Elections. If you know who your
State Representative is, you can look up the phone numbers of their
Springfield and district offices here.
2. Pass this alert on to all your friends and family, ask them to make
calls as well.
3. Please post this alert to any and all blogs and bulletin boards to
which you may belong.
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter. The future of lawful
gun ownership in Illinois depends on you!
