Thanks for a great '09-'10 season!

We had a great '09-'10 year! Thanks you to the regular crew who made sure everything was running smooth, in order and on time! Additionally, a big thank you to everyone who came out and shot with us - don't be strangers next year!

We'll be shooting Thursday October 7th, 2010 and kicking it off with our homage to Jeff Cooper by shooting "El Presidente" and possibly all or protions of the "Mexican Defense" (Which to give props was discussed by Rob Haught in this quarters IDPA's "Tacitcal Journal" - shame he didn't give the COF/layout.)

The time to practice (both dry fire and live fire) is now! Be sure to check out the other venues that we've plugged here.

Lastly, please check your USPSA scores/classifiers on the USPSA site - I've had to post an addendum for one of our shooters and I just want to be sure that I didn't miss anyone else...

Have a great summer!

Scores from 5/20/2010

Thanks to everyone who came out to our banquet - good food and good cheer after shooting always makes for a blast!

We'll start shooting again on 10/7/2010 - dust off your El Presidente, as this is ALWAYS our first classifier/homage d'Cooper.

Scores are uploaded to USPSA for people tracking divisions (check local match results - our club is NI09) and, as usually we're posting aggregate scores below. Enjoy the summer!!

Single Stack Nationals...

While Robbie Leatham didn't have to sweat the MISS crew stealing his, what is it now? like 200th SSN win, the MISS crew was well represented and had a blast!

Final '09-'10 Match and Banquet.

We're going to run two longer, 24 round, Comstock courses, replete with all the fun toys: clamshell, beartrap activator, swingers, pop-over steel, etc...

GOTCHAS? Here's the gotcha: They use the same stage layout.

To limber up, we'll run it once from the lower left moving forward before starting you facing up range in the upper right box (turn and draw). If you haven't had to move up range on a course of fire before, take it slow because the 180 rule is there to protect all the shooters and the RO's.

After the match we'll adjourn to the pub to eat pizza, drink beer and have a merry 'ole time at the Fox Hole.

May 6th, 2010 Results

Well, that classifier sucked. I really do think it is the toughest one.

As an aside, it is my favorite one - think about it it only tests your ability to draw (even slowly) and fire 6 simple shots. No movement, no reloads, etc...

I digress. Scores have been pushed to USPSA, classifier paid for, and aggregate scores below.

I'll post last match info when we figure out what we're going to do.

Why we stop in May...

I've gotten a few questions as to why we stop shooting in May. The answer is simple:

There are so many outdoor venues running USPSA around here during the summer that we just don't get enough people to make it worthwhile.

Here is a partial list - be sure to check USPSA site for additional clubs.

Saturday:
The Ripon Gun Club shoots USPSA the first and last Saturday of the month.

Sunday, SunDAY, SUNDAY!:
Pine Tree Pistol Club (Rockford) shoots on the 1st Sunday of the month.
Oak Park Sportsmen's Club(IL) and Schultz' Gun Club (WI) shoot the 2nd Sunday of the Month.
Oconomowoc (WI) shoots the 3rd Sunday of the month.
Northern Illinois Shooters Association (WI) shoots the 4th Sunday of the month. (They share Schultz' range)

Additionally, some of the clubs shoot IDPA and there are several that other clubs that shoot other mix of action pistol/3-gun... For example, check out Action Shooting Sports which shoots a great match in Britol on the first Sunday of every month.

With all that going on, aspiring shooters should find something!

May 6th Match - Courses of fire...

We'll be running the classifier 99-14, "Hoser Heaven" - it is a 12 yard, TIMED FIRE stage.

For the second stage, we're running some 18 round stage. Working on getting a diagram soon...
