Several regular attendees are calling for some form of election.
In order to proceed, we probably need to:
1.) Draw up some description of the official positions
2.) Find out who nominees are
3.) Determine what constitues "club membership"
4.) Set a date for election (probably 5/31/2012 "banquet")
For the match, I will bring/post a description of positions and also try to find out what constitues "membership".
Stages
1.) Field course, 24 rounds, comstock.
2.) CM 06-10, "Speedy Steel VII".

Looking forward to the match!
As our club has been successful, we're running into similar issues other clubs have experienced in terms of accommodating exploding levels of interest, leading to a need for revisiting our structure and governance to help take us to the next step and continue to grow.
I think we should designate positions of board members/officers, such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, CRO, Chief Match Director (or something like that). That would help distribute the workload and provide for some redundancy. It would also be a structure compatible with a not-for-profit organization.
Once we decide on positions, we can hold elections. As suggested, it should be done sometime soon.
I nominate myself for the position of Chief Beer, Cured Meat, and Roast Pork Taster. :-)
Hope this helps!

This used to be a membership club with nominated positions. So I guess I dont really see the point of going back to that? Do people think they can run it more efficiently?

IF ANYONE CAN'T MAKE IT ALSO LET ME KNOW!!!!
ALL YOU SCALPERS OUT THERE.... HIT ME UP!!!
I agree that any organization (with a goal in mind) needs structure, key roles, accountability, and action to achieve growth!!!
